What we need are solid federal laws obligating our car and home insurance to cover damages. We don't need or want more laws and regulations that discourage or prevent law enforcement from doing their job. Counties have insurance, but policies will change and increase if they start using their coverage for every single event. Then, counties will spend more on insurance, and guess who will end up paying for that? Yes, you and I, through additional county tax increases. What we really need is to clean the streets of criminals, enforce heavy sentences with forced labor, and reduce jail costs funded by taxpayers.
